`Read Time: 1m 14s`
>Creativity benefits from some level of restriction. For example regardless of what an artist paints be it in a representational or non-representational style, they still have to understand the rules of color theory. These limits for a writer are the grammar and syntax rules of language. Again a mini essay is really just a note. The tallest trees have the deepest roots.
Four rules for writing a mini-essay are as follows.
1. One Idea Per Mini-Essay
2. Keep Them Short
1. 100-500 Words. Keep the entire mini essay on one page without scrolling.
3. Stay Organized
1. A system of tags, indexes, and links. Write down the sources.
2. Reference things in the present. Write Down Sources.
4. Connect Related Mini-Essays
Write Mini-Essays with a basic three-part structure: ==Intro, Body, Conclusion==.
*Intro* -- The Hook. This is where you introduce the premise of the mini essay. Two goals of a mini essay are to make the premise clear and to spark curiosity. Clarity and Curiosity. Make a strong statement. Inspire Emotion. Open with a question. Tell a story, put the reader in the middle.
*Body* -- Explain, add detail, and guide the reader through the thought process. When revising view the prompt as the reader and fill in the gaps.
*Conclusion* -- The ability to make a powerful conclusion is priceless.
Creating story notes. We've used story to carry ideas through time. We as humans relate to stories rather than raw information to get a point across. Understand the point you want to make before you write the story. Half story and half discussion. Scarcity leads to gratitude.,
